Established in 1988, the UNSW Foundation Year program - run by UNSW Foundation Studies - is the longest-running Foundation program in Australia and offers you a smooth transition into undergraduate studies.

Over 12,000 students have graduated from our program with the majority going on to achieve excellent results in their degree studies.

• 85 per cent of all students at the UNSW Kensington campus have continued on to undergraduate study, the majority at UNSW;

UNSW Foundation Year is offered at the UNSW main campus at Kensington, an inner south-eastern suburb of Sydney.

• 20 minutes by bus from Central railway station in the city;
• 15 minutes by taxi from the airport;
• 30 minutes from the ferry terminals at Circular Quay;
• 20 minutes from the Bondi Junction railway station;
• easily accessible from the nearby suburbs of Bondi, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee and Maroubra.
• The campus caters for the needs of 5000 staff and 40,000 students. Extensively landscaped, the grounds provide a safe, clean environment for learning and living.
• UNSW Foundation Year is located in a brand new teaching building with up-to-date tutorial and computer classrooms, student common room and a cafe in the courtyard. UNSW Foundation Year students have full use of all the resources at UNSW, such as the Library, Sports Centre and Health Centre.

• From June 2007 students will receive a UNSW student number when they enrol in Foundation Year which will be your student number throughout your studies at UNSW.
