If your previous study has not been in an English-language medium you normally need to take a recognised English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL. Required minimum results are:

Other English results accepted are GCE A levels, HK A level Use of English and STPM.
  *IELTS: International English Language Testing System. Tests are conducted by IDP Education
Australia Offices or British Council Offices. Applicants must take the Academic Module and must
achieve consistent results across all bands.
  ** TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language. A TOEFL score is not acceptable without the
Test of Written English (TWE) for paper-based and computer-based tests or Writing for
internet-based test. UNSW Foundation Studies is now registered as a test site for the TOEFL iBT.
